Venk Reddy

Portfolio Manager & Chief Investment Officer

Venk founded Zeo in 2009. Prior to Zeo, he was a co-founder of Laurel Ridge Asset Management, a $400m multi-strategy hedge fund, where he managed the credit, distressed and event-driven portfolios. In that role, Venk specialized in asset valuation and identifying opportunities at the intersection of quantitative and fundamental analysis. In addition to his portfolio and investment committee responsibilities, he managed both the credit and technology teams and built the infrastructure underlying the fund’s scalable risk and analysis systems. Previously, Venk structured derivative products and was head of delta-one trading as a portfolio manager within Bank of America’s Equity Financial Products group (EFP). As one of the first traders hired, he was integrally involved in growing EFP from a startup operation to a business employing 215 people with annual revenues over $700m. Venk also managed investments in event-driven situations, convertible instruments and options at Pine River Capital Management and HBK Investments, where he started his career. Venk earned a BA in Computer Science with Honors from Harvard University. He currently serves as a trustee for the Katherine Delmar Burke School with roles on the finance, audit and technology committees.

 

Brad Cook

Brad Cook, CPA

Portfolio Manager & Director of Credit Research

Brad joined Zeo in 2012. He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Vancouver where he qualified as a Canadian Chartered Accountant with a focus on audit and bankruptcy before joining their London-based corporate finance group. He then served as a vice president and high yield credit analyst at Oaktree Capital Management, a top-tier European high yield bond fund in London. He also served as a Director and senior credit analyst at Descartes Capital, a $300m hedge fund focused on high yield and convertible debt based in San Francisco. Immediately prior to joining Zeo, he was head of convertible strategies at Sterne Agee Group and head of credit research in the convertible bond group at Thomas Weisel Partners. In both roles, Brad focused on fundamental investments in corporate debt with an emphasis on company value and capital structure. Brad earned a BComm from the University of Calgary.

Paige Uher

Paige Uher

Director Investor Relations

Paige joined Zeo in 2014 and manages business development, sales, client service and marketing. She joined Zeo from Fintan Partners, a credit-focused hedge fund platform, where she was on the institutional investor service team. Prior to Fintan, she was Vice President and Manager of investor relations at private equity firm, Blum Capital Partners. Before moving to San Francisco, she lived in New York and was Vice President and Manager of client service at Advent Capital Management, a convertible bond manager with long-only, closed-end mutual funds and hedged strategies. She started her career at Q Investments, a Texas-based multi-strategy hedge fund. She earned a BS in Communications Studies and a minor in Business Administration from Texas Christian University where she was a Chancellor Scholar and graduated magna cum laude. She served as the Education Chair of Northern California 100 Women in Finance for six years and is currently on the Selection Advisory Council for GreenLight Fund.

Nick Masiewicki

Lead Software Architect

Nick joined Zeo in 2018 to lead the development of the mission-critical technology underlying the firm’s next generation of advisory services. Prior to Zeo, he designed and developed data analysis pipelines for Adometry, Inc., a SaaS-based marketing attribution and optimization platform. He developed data-mining algorithms capable of processing billions of marketing events a day, architected data warehouses for efficient real-time analysis, and built a platform to learn predictive models and optimize clients’ digital marketing spend. He continued his role when Google acquired Adometry in 2014. He started his career developing operations and analytics tools for Laurel Ridge Asset Management before spending a few years developing handheld video games and virtual training systems for military and security forces. Nick earned a BE in electrical engineering from Cooper Union.

Seth Karpel

Operations and Systems Analyst

Seth joined Zeo in 2018. He works with the investment team to optimize Zeo’s operational, trading and portfolio management infrastructures and processes through technologically-driven solutions. Seth earned a BA in Mathematics with High Distinction along with a second major in Computer Science and minor in Ancient Studies from Washington University in St. Louis, where he graduated cum laude.

Phillip Tran

Operations and Systems Analyst

Phillip joined Zeo in 2017. He focuses on leveraging technology to prototype, automate and optimize processes across all aspects of the firm’s operations, including trading, portfolio management, sales and business development. Prior to joining Zeo, he worked as a business development associate at an augmented reality technology startup called WearX. At WearX, he was tasked with a multitude of business development, operations, and research responsibilities. Phillip earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Idil Uralli

Business Operations Manager

Idil joined the team in 2011 where she manages the business operations, design and marketing communications for Zeo. Prior to Zeo, she’s worked in the financial industry since 2004 as office manager and executive assistant for Orchid Asia Management and Joost Enterprises Corporation. She honed her graphic design and HR operational skills at DesignMind, a software company based in San Francisco. Idil started her career at Wells Fargo and later moved to Time Inc., working for Fortune and Time Magazine, respectively. She earned a BA in Psychology and Art History from the University of California, Santa Cruz and continued her education at the University of California, Berkeley Extension program in Graphic Design.
